Application Guidelines

Shintomi International Language Academy recruits applicants four times a year, in April, July, October, and January.
The schedule for each recruitment is summarized below.

Eligibility

  1. Those who have completed at least 12 years of regular education (the duration varies depending on the country) and other similar school education in their home country, and who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry into Japan in principle.
  2. Those who are eligible for admission to a higher education institution such as a university in their home country (high school graduation or a qualification equivalent to high school graduation)
  3. Those who can submit a certificate of Japanese study of 150 hours or more at the time of application
  4. Those who are recognized as having the Japanese Proficiency Test (JLPT) “N5 level or higher (April students [2-year course]), July students”, “N4 level equivalent or higher (April students [1-year course], October students, January students)
  5. In principle, if you are 30 years old or younger, you can apply if you have completed your last educational background within 5 years, but if you have a nursing qualification and a clear work history.

* “Certificate of Japanese Learning” in Item 3 above: In addition to the “total study time taken and actual study time actually attended”, “study time, attendance rate, course content, course name, target level of completion of the course, and name of teaching materials used” should be written on this certificate.

* “JLPT N4 or N5 level or higher” in Item 4 above refers to JLPT, JPT, J.TEST, BJT, NAT-Test N4 or N5 certification (J-Cert and JLCT are not eligible), and other Japanese proficiency tests are not eligible.
Please submit the original certificate of the Japanese Proficiency Test.

Precautions
  • Documents are valid for 3 months or less.
  • Diplomas will not be accepted except in originals.
  • The documents must be filled out by the person using a ballpoint pen or fountain pen.
  • When correcting documents, do not use correction fluid.
  • Please indicate your age.

  • When filling in your educational background, please write in the order of elementary school, junior high school, and high school. Please clearly indicate the name of the school, its location, the date of enrollment, and the date of graduation. (Cannot be substituted)
  • If you entered elementary school under the age of six, please submit a life record book.
  • If there is a gap in 12 years of schooling, then instructions are required.
    (Please fill in the information so that there is no gap in educational background and work history.) Please be sure to fill in the period of preparation for the examination and the period of military service. )
*2 Statement of purpose
  • Please describe your motivation for studying (purpose and necessity) and your career path after graduation. Please be sure to fill it out in person.

  • If the application documents are incomplete, the application will not be accepted.
  • Enrollment fees, tuition fees, and other expenses are subject to change depending on circumstances, so please check in advance.
  • As a general rule, we do not refund the tuition fees paid.
  • Admission will be closed as soon as the application capacity is reached, so the application deadline may change.

Tuition Fees for Preparatory Courses

When successful applicants receive a notification of issuance of a Certificate of Eligibility (COE), they are required to pay a lump sum of 780,000 yen for the first year.
As soon as payment is confirmed, we will send you a Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and a Letter of Admission.
In addition, those who have financial circumstances can consult in advance.
