Shintomi International Language Academy offers two main course curricula: the “Long-term Course” and the “Short-term Course”.

Long-term Courses

Course Outline

The long-term course is a course for obtaining a student visa and aiming to go on to higher education mainly using Japanese.

We offer 5 courses
  1. 1 year (April Intake)
  2. 1 year and 3 months (January Intake)
  3. 1 year and 6 months (October Intake)
  4. 1 year and 9 months (July Intake)
  5. 2 year (April Intake)
In principle, graduation for all courses is at the end of March.

Guide to Choosing Long-Term Course

Long-term Courses
1 year course, 1 year and 3 months course, 1 year and 6 months course
  • Students who are confident in his/her Japanese language skills and want to work in Japanese, or who want to find a job or go on to higher education in Japan.
  • JLPT N4 or higher, JLPT N3 or higher before graduation
Long-term Courses
1 year and 9 months, 2 years course
  • Students who can understand hiragana and katakana at the time of enrollment and want to take the time to learn Japanese, culture, and customs
  • JLPT N5 or higher, JLPT N3 or higher before graduation

Long-term Course Features

  • Our highly qualified teachers will provide enthusiastic lectures in Japanese language education.
  • Students can quickly acquire daily Japanese through interactive communication (Students need to work hard).
  • Upon graduation, students are expected to have at least JLPT N4, and most will have JLPT N3 or higher. Our grads have worked within global communities by using Japanese and some other languages.

Visa Information

In order for students to study at a Japanese educational institution in the medium to long term, it is necessary to obtain a “Student” visa.

  • The student visa allows you to stay for one year or one year and three months at the time of entry, and then extends it to allow you to stay at a Japanese school for up to two years.
  • Our school has been an appropriate school.
  • By applying for permission to engage in activities outside the status of residence, it is possible to work part-time for up to 28 hours per week.

About Student Visa

Generally, the status of residence for receiving education at a Japanese language educational institution is student visa.
Those who wish to study at our school for a mid to long term must obtain this student visa.

Learning Period
  • Up to 2 years
About Student Visa
  • Students are allowed to work part-time job.
  • Students MUST keep his/her attendance rate of 80% or above because his/her main purpose is to learn Japanese.
  • Wishing to learn for more than 1 year, he/she will be eligible for National Health Insurance.
    Getting it, he/she can receive treatment at a cost of 30% of the medical expenses incurred.

  • Students can study Japanese according to his/her requests.

Please feel free to contact the admissions if students are a participant of the Summer Course or Winter Course (separately planned), a short-term visa holder (1 week to 3 months) who wishes to study while sightseeing, or a working holiday visa holder (during part-time job) who is in Japan and wishes to study Japanese.
Students can choose to pay tuition monthly, three months, or six months.
A placement test will be held to determine his/her class, but he/she can change class if it is not the right one for him/her.
